Wildcard Technologies (http://www.wildcts.com) is a Lexington, KY based computer repair and network support company focused on
residential home users and small to medium sized businesses. Wildcard recently completed T-Mobile store
upgrades fufilling hardware requirements for an upcoming store-front interface upgrade for T-Mobile
store Point of Sale (POS) systems. This upgrade came as a result of a partnership with larger
contracting firm Advanced Technology Partners. Store-front systems were upgraded with additional
memory to meet software requirements for soon planned software upgrades.

How To Disable System Restore (Windows XP)
System Restore is a setting designed by Microsoft to allow users to revert their computer to a previous working state in the event a fatal system crash occurs. The problem with this feature is that most times when such a crash occurs System Restore generally offers little in ways of helping recover your computer.
Another problem with System Restore is that is offers an excellent hiding place for viruses and other forms of malware. Many Anti-Virus programs are configured not to scan these directories. I typically recommend disabling this feature. Below is how to do so:
- Click Start | Settings | Control Panel
- Double click the "System" applet
- Click the "System Restore" tab
- Check the box labeled "Turn off System Restore"
Another benefit of disabling this feature is that it always frees up at least several Gigabytes of free disk space on your hard drive. You will need to reboot your computer after changing these settings.
